There are five horses in Jelov Klanac, at the very border of the Plitvice Lakes National Park - Munja, Grom, Sokol, Dora and Nera, who freely wander through the green areas.
The horses drink water from the source, breath fresh air, eat organic food and are daily lavished by love of the hosts and numerous visitors. The guests may if they wish be in direct touch with the horses. With a professional supervision provided, they may also take care of them, give drink and food to them and ride them. The experienced riders have the opportunity of field-riding with the guide along the very border of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, the experience which always turns into a real delicacy.
Horses are very friendly and intelligent animals. The times when horses were used as working tools and transport means are long behind us. Nowadays people keep horses out of mere joy and satisfaction. On a horseback, we do not only become more human, but also establish touch with the wilderness sleeping deep inside us. Horses require love and care in return.
Horses need to be fed and allowed a constant access to fresh water, grass or hay. They have to be visited and require a lot of attention. They need to be covered and provided a vet care. They also need to be groomed and constantly exercised. Only the care for horses make us their friends.
